showcase of current R/D

G0 Brilliance (alpha), a tool to qualify for colours, depending on their appearance as either fluorescent or surface colour, based on Evans (1974)

Primelight, a natural colour tool to work closely on the camera negative and manipulate different regions individually

SFX Highlights (beta), a spatial tool which utilizes different frequency bands to emulate the feel of a SoftFX-camera filter and create the impression of detail in clipped areas.

Stretch Gamut (beta), a tool to shape the source-gamut more intuitively, compared to a traditional matrix

FillLight (beta), colourtool, which works based on local adapation colour appearance model, to emulate more or less Filllight in the scenery

Colour Crosstalk, a matrix-like tool, to emulate Crosstalk between RGB in a way, which feels more intuitive compared to a traditional matrix tool

LAB looks, a creative colour tool to change contrast and pivots in the CIEL*a*b* colour model and add colour crosstalk between those channels

Surround (beta), Surround compensates for other viewing environments, using the CIE xyY colour space, also used by ACES for dim and dark environment. In this shader it is also used for bright environment, as approach to be validated.

HDR patch generator, generates achromatic or chromatic patches based on HDR nit levels in PQ or HLG (1000nits). It can also measure nit levels of HDR content.

Primelight 7-06 new features,

a natural colour tool to work closely on the camera negative and manipulate different regions individually

VideoGrade, leveling shadows and hightlights in a log scene referred colour space (often called “grading before the LUT”, similar to a display referred way (often calles “grading after the LUT”)

TC6 Colour Management System 7, a colour management similar to ACES or TCAM to bring in footage into a grading friendly colour space and convert back to a HDR or SDR display colour space, using colour appearance models for a better perceptual translation.

ReLight (beta), colourtool to brighten or darken parts of the image, which emulates real light by using an overlay of 50% grey with additional white or black paint strokes, in this case, generated either by a luminance key or also with external mattes, generated for example with colour keyers of the grading system.

Salamifish Smart Contrast, colour space aware tool to change the contrast of an image in a more HDR friendly way, to maintain shadows level and specular highlights.

logc source image is shown with BT1886/Rec709 display transform. waveform is showing the graded logc behavior, though in this case. you can see that shadows stay neutral, while the image becomes lookier.
